Gloves selection
With the SHIELD Scientific product brand code, select the right gloves is now an easy exercise.
Extra long sterile nitrile gloves such as SHIELDskin™ XTREME Sterile White Nitrile 600 DI+ are used to provide full arm protection and continuous coverage during high‑risk aseptic tasks. These sterile gloves 600 mm limit exposure to particles, liquids and biological materials in GMP Grade A/B environments.
Full arm coverage is required during aseptic filling, equipment maintenance, set‑up between campaigns, or microbiological QA tasks. 600 mm cleanroom gloves (24″) maintain continuous protection along the arm to support GMP Annex 1 requirements.
600 mm/24″ gloves are justified when tasks involve extended interventions under Grade A laminar flow or high liquid exposure. Compared to shorter options, these sterile gloves 600 mm provide full arm coverage and help maintain protective continuity during demanding aseptic operations.
600 mm sterile nitrile gloves maintain continuous overlap with cleanroom garment sleeves, reducing exposure at the forearm. This interaction is critical when using extra long sterile nitrile gloves, ensuring barrier continuity during movement in isolators or high‑intervention workflows, as required in ISO 5 and GMP Grade A/B environments.
Extended‑cuff sterile gloves (600 mm) are used in GMP Grade A/B aseptic environments where maintaining a continuous sterile barrier is critical. They help minimise contamination risks as part of the Contamination Control Strategy (CCS) in high‑risk operations.
