Gloves selection
With the SHIELD Scientific product brand code, select the right gloves is now an easy exercise.
Extra‑long sterile latex cleanroom gloves such as SHIELDskin™ XTREME Sterile Latex 400 DI+ are used to provide extended forearm coverage while maintaining high tactile precision. These 400 mm sterile latex gloves support safe sample handling and help limit contamination during aseptic tasks in GMP Grade A/B environments.
Sterile latex gloves support contamination control by limiting particle release and maintaining consistent barrier performance against biocontamination, as defined under EN ISO 374 standards. Within a Contamination Control Strategy (CCS), they help maintain controlled conditions aligned with cleanroom limits from ISO 5 to ISO 8 (GMP Grade A–D).
400 mm sterile gloves are selected when tasks require greater forearm coverage than 300 mm while preserving dexterity. They offer a balance between comfort, performance and coverage, making them suitable for GMP Grade A/B aseptic production.
Latex gloves may be affected by mechanical stress, repeated flexing or prolonged exposure to disinfectants. In demanding operations, longer gloves (600 mm) may be required for additional coverage, while nitrile alternatives are often preferred for higher chemical exposure.
Sterile latex cleanroom gloves 400 mm are used in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and life science cleanrooms, particularly in ISO 5 and GMP Grade A/B environments where precise handling and contamination control are critical. Their performance is aligned with EN ISO 374 standards for chemical and biological hazards.
