SHIELDskin™

    Biological risk

    A revolution in glove technology.

SHIELDskin™ brand offer nitrile/neoprene gloves using twinSHIELD™ innovative technology for better protection and comfort. These category III PPE registered gloves are extra-length (260 mm and 300 mm) and offer a high level of protection against biohazards (AQL 0.25 - EN 374-2:2014 Level 3) and are virus resistant (ISO 16604:2004 procedure B).

The perfect glove solution for biosafety laboratory

    Information

SHIELDskin™ gloves are designed for laboratory use to protect you against biological and chemical hazards. These AQL 0.25 non-sterile and sterile single-use gloves are the first to reach a so high level of quality offering both a better protection of lab assays against contamination and lab workers during their biosafety procedures.

SHIELDskin™ gloves are available in 260 or 300 mm length with a palm thickness of 0.14 mm. SHIELDskin™ Type B gloves resist to permeation for at least 30 minutes against 3 out of the 18 chemicals listed in ISO 374-1:2016+A1:2018 (tested according to EN 16523-1:2015+A1:2018). SHIELDskin™ sterile and non-sterile single-use gloves protect against high chemical splash risks.

    Biohazards protection

SHIELDskin™ gloves are tested to demonstrate compliance with ISO 374-5:2016 for protection against biohazard. SHIELDskin™ gloves have an Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) of 0.25 according to ISO 374-2:2019. This level of protection in standard laboratory gloves has never previously been available and will provide additional confidence in meeting high biosecurity procedures. Microorganism resistant Level 3 per ISO 374-2:2019 and virus resistant per ISO 16604:2004 Procedure B.

    Allergy

SHIELDskin™ ORANGE NITRILE™ gloves are accelerator-free thereby limiting the risk of type IV allergic contact dermatitis. Furthermore, there are non-detectable levels of chemical allergens (using Phosphate buffered solution and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography assay method for quantitative analysis). They are also 100 % latex-free providing a solution for those seeking to eliminate or minimize the risk of Natural Rubber Latex Type I allergy (or type I hypersensitivity).

    twinSHIELD™ technology

With its neoprene/nitrile formulation and the double-dipping process known as twinSHIELD™ technology, SHIELDskin™ sterile and non-sterile gloves have been developed to protect users without compromising dexterity and comfort. An orange outer colour helps identifying the level of risk faced and differentiates from the other SHIELD Scientific gloves. The inner white film is extremely soft for the skin and facilitates the donning of the nitrile glove.

Assays and workers protection against contamination, biological and chemical hazards

  • SHIELDskin™gloves are registered according to the PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and MDR Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (for non-sterile gloves).
  • AQL 0,25 for barrier effectiveness (ISO 374-2:2019), protecting against micro-organisms (ISO 374-5:2016) and virus resistant (ISO 1660 :2004 Procedure B) for a high level of protection in biosafety procedures.
  • Type B gloves for chemical protection in the laboratory according to ISO 374-1:2016+A1:2018.
  • Double layered twinSHIELD™ technology, inner white and outer orange, for better protection and comfort.
  • Latex and accelerator-free single-use gloves to limit the risk of allergies Type I and Type IV.
  • Category III PPE gloves:

SHIELDskin™ safety gloves are Category III PPE according to the PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and as such are designed against the mortal and the irreversible risks. Only Category III PPE gloves are likely to offer laboratory personnel the necessary level of protection.

SHIELDskin™ gloves are also registered as Medical Device (MD) class I according to the MDR Regulation (EU) 2017/745.
